Privacy policy

My Sky Report is a trading name of Fitread Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17499351). We decide how your personal data is used, so we are the “controller” under data protection law. This page explains what we collect, why, who helps us handle it and what your choices are.

The short version

We never sell your birth details or your reports.

• The free birth chart is worked out in your browser by our own software. We do not receive your birth date, time or place, unless you ask us to email you your chart.
• One short paragraph on your free chart, “Your chart in a few lines”, is written with AI. The AI is given only your sun, moon and rising signs and your chart’s strongest element and modality. It gets no name and no birth details.
• To buy, we need your birth details, your email address and your billing country. Your card details go straight to Stripe.
• An AI writes your report. We send it the chart worked out from your birth details, not your email address or payment details.
• We use Google Ads and Microsoft Clarity to measure our ads and improve our pages. You can switch both off on our privacy choices page. We honor Global Privacy Control.
• We keep reports and their inputs for 12 months, then delete them.
• You can ask us to delete your data at any time. Just email us.

Who we are

The seller and data controller is Fitread Ltd, trading as My Sky Report. Our registered office is 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. Email us at hello@myskyreport.com.

We are a UK company and we sell to consumers in the United States only. Because we are based in the UK, the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 apply to how we handle personal data. We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Our ICO registration number is ZC278859.

The free birth chart and free tools

The free chart and the free tools (such as rising sign and moon sign) are worked out in your browser from your date, time and place of birth. The planetary positions, houses and aspects are calculated by our own software from astronomical data. They are not written or calculated by AI. You do not need an account to see your chart, and you do not have to give an email address.

The sign and planet readings on your free chart are short texts we wrote in advance. No AI is used for them, and none is used in the free tools.

One short piece on the free chart is written with AI: the paragraph “Your chart in a few lines”. To write it, your browser sends our server only these facts about your chart: your sun sign, your moon sign (or both possible signs, if you do not know your birth time and the Moon changed sign that day), your rising sign (only if you gave a birth time), and your chart’s strongest element and modality, such as “fire” and “fixed”. We pass those facts to the AI provider, Anthropic, through Vercel’s AI Gateway, on the terms described under “The AI that writes your report” below. We send no name, birth date, birth time, birthplace, email address or other detail about you. We keep each paragraph under its combination of signs, so we can show it again to anyone whose chart has the same ones. It is not linked to you. If the AI is unavailable, we show a text we wrote in advance instead.

Your birth date, time and place are not sent to our servers. The only other part that talks to us is the place search, which loads a public list of cities so you can find your birthplace. We do not store what you enter.

That changes only if you ask us to email you your chart. See “Email” below.

Email

If you ask for your chart by email

After you see your chart, a small card may ask “Want your chart by email?” It is optional. If you enter your email address, we email you your chart as a PDF.

Under the email field is a separate box: “Also send me occasional readings about my chart.” It starts unticked. We send readings only if you tick it. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link and our postal address, which is 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.

To make the PDF, we need the birth details you used, so we receive them. We store them with your email address, and with your first name if you gave one. We also keep a record of what you agreed to and when.

We collect no email address from anyone whose birth date shows they are under 13.

When you pay

When you buy, the payment form asks for your email address. We use it to send your report link and your receipt, and to answer questions about your order. We do not add it to our email list.

Paid orders: what we collect

When you buy a report, we collect:

• Your name or first name. This is optional. If you give it, we use it in your report.
• Your birth date, your birth time (or “unknown”) and your birthplace, as a place name and its coordinates.
• If your order includes a compatibility report, the same details for one other person, including their first name. You enter these yourself, so please make sure they have agreed. If you came from a “Compare with someone” link, see that section below.
• Your email address.
• Your billing country, the country your card was issued in and Stripe payment references. We never see or store your full card number.
• The page you landed on and, if you came from a Google ad, the ad’s campaign and ad group numbers, the keyword and Google’s click ID. We keep these with your order so we can see which ads lead to sales.

Paying with Stripe

You pay on our page, in a payment form from Stripe (Stripe’s Payment Element). You can also pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay or Link, which work through Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

We keep your billing country and the country your card was issued in. We need them as evidence of where you are, for tax.

So that we can write your report once the payment goes through, we attach your order details to the payment. That includes your birth details, and for gifts the names, emails and message. Stripe holds these with its payment record.

The AI that writes your report

An AI writes your report. We work out your chart with our own code. Then we send the AI provider the chart facts worked out from your birth details (such as “Venus in Leo”), and your first name if you gave one. We do not send it your email address or payment details.

The AI provider is Anthropic, reached through Vercel’s AI Gateway. We use these services under commercial terms that do not allow our inputs to be used to train their models.

The AI does not make decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects.

Why we use your data

• To work out your chart, write your report and deliver it to you.
• To take payment, handle refunds and answer your questions.
• To keep the records we need for tax. This includes evidence of where you are, which is your billing country and card country.
• To email you the chart you asked for and, if you tick the box, occasional readings.
• To make gifts and comparisons work.
• To measure our ads and improve our pages, unless you opt out.
• To keep the site secure and stop abuse.

The UK GDPR asks us to name our legal reasons. They are: to carry out the contract with you (your order, your gift, or the chart you asked us to email); to follow the law (tax and accounting records); your consent (marketing emails, if you tick the box, which you can withdraw by unsubscribing); and our legitimate interests (support, security, preventing fraud, measuring our ads and improving our pages). You can object to the last one. See “Your rights” below.

Who we share it with

These companies process data for us. They are based in, or use servers in, the United States.

• Vercel: hosting, file storage (Vercel Blob, where reports and orders are kept) and the AI Gateway.
• Anthropic: the AI that writes your report and the short “Your chart in a few lines” paragraph on your free chart, reached through Vercel’s AI Gateway.
• Stripe: payments.
• Resend: sending our emails, such as your report link, receipts, your chart PDF and gift emails.
• Google: Google Ads measurement and remarketing, through the Google tag.
• Microsoft: Clarity, which shows us how pages are used.

We do not sell your personal information. The only sharing for advertising is the Google Ads tools described next, and you can switch them off. We may also share data if the law requires us to, for example with a tax authority or under a court order.

Advertising and analytics

We run Google Ads. We use Google and Microsoft tools to see whether the ads work and to improve our pages. They may set cookies or use similar tools in your browser.

Google Ads

• Conversion measurement. When you buy, the Google tag tells Google Ads that a purchase happened. It sends the order value and the payment ID.
• Remarketing audiences. Four steps can add your browser to an audience, so our ads can reach people who visited: you made a free chart, you saw the offer, you started checkout, or you bought. We send only the name of the step. It never contains birth details or report text.
• Enhanced conversions. At purchase, we can send Google a SHA-256 hash of your email address. That is a scrambled version, not the address itself. It lets Google match the sale to an ad click. We do this only if you have not opted out.
• Consent mode. If you opt out, Google’s ad cookies are off and ads are not personalized for you. Google still gets a plain signal that a sale happened.

Microsoft Clarity

Clarity records how pages are used, such as clicks and scrolling, so we can fix confusing parts. We mask every form field and all chart and report content, so Clarity cannot see what you type or read. Clarity is not loaded if you opt out.

Under some US state laws, these Google Ads tools count as “sharing” personal information for targeted advertising. That is why we give you a choice.

Your privacy choices

The link “Your privacy choices” in the footer of every page takes you to /privacy-choices. There, anyone can opt out of sharing for targeted ads.

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out automatically.

Opting out stops remarketing, Clarity and enhanced conversions on that browser. The site works the same. Your choice is saved in that browser only, so choose again on each browser or device.

You can also block cookies in your browser settings, change your ad choices in Google’s ad settings, or email us at hello@myskyreport.com to opt out.

Compare with someone

You can make a link and send it to a friend to compare charts. When you make the link, you give your first name and birth details. We store them for 30 days, to work out comparisons. Your friend gives their first name and birth details, and we store those with the invite.

Neither of you ever sees the other’s birth date, time or place. You see each other’s first names and how your sun, moon, Venus and Mars connect.

If your friend buys a compatibility report, it describes both charts’ placements. It never contains birth details.

Gifts

If you buy a gift, we keep your name and email address, the recipient’s first name, the recipient’s email address (only if we email the gift), your message and the delivery date.

The person who gets the gift enters their own birth details when they open it. They can also add an email address to get the link to their report. You, the buyer, do not see their birth details, their email address or their report.

The gift email is a one-off email about the gift, with your message and a link. It is not marketing, and we do not add the recipient to any list.

Surveys and visit counts

Exit survey

If you answer our short exit survey, your answer is anonymous. We store your answer, an optional short note, and the page and ad group you came from. We do not store your email address, IP address or any ID. We remove anything that looks like an email address, a link or a phone number from the note. Please do not put personal details in it.

Step counts

We count how many visitors reach each step, such as seeing the offer, for each page and ad group. These counts stay on our own servers. Each one carries a random ID for your browser tab, which we use to count unique visitors. It has no name, email address, IP address or birth details in it.

Cookies and browser storage

• We do not use account or login cookies.
• If you open a gift, we set one cookie in your browser so you can come back to your report. It holds a random code and nothing about you. It lasts a year.
• The Google tag and Clarity may set cookies, as explained above. Opting out switches them off.
• We keep a few small notes in your browser’s storage. They are not cookies. They hold the birth details you typed (for that tab only, so the back button does not wipe them), your privacy choice, whether you have already seen our email card or survey, and the random tab ID and ad link details used for our step counts.

You can clear all of this in your browser settings.

How long we keep it

• Reports and their inputs: 12 months after purchase, so your link keeps working. Then we delete them.
• Gift details: a gift never expires, so we keep them until the gift is opened or refunded. After that, the 12 months for orders applies.
• “Compare with someone” invites, including your friend’s details: 30 days.
• Email list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. After you unsubscribe, we keep a scrambled (hashed) copy of your address on a do-not-email list, so we never email you again.
• Payment and tax records: as long as UK law requires, which is 6 years.

You can ask us to delete your report and its inputs sooner. Email us. Once deleted, your report link stops working.

Sending data to the United States

We are in the UK and our providers use servers in the US. So your data is handled in both countries. Where UK law requires safeguards for sending data abroad, we rely on the safeguards our providers put in place.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• give you a copy of your personal data (access);
• correct anything that is wrong (correction);
• delete your data (deletion);
• stop using your data for something, such as ad measurement (objection);
• give you your data in a format you can reuse (portability).

These rights come from the UK GDPR. We offer the same rights to everyone in the United States, whatever state you live in. That includes the right to opt out of sharing for targeted ads. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.

To ask for your data to be deleted, or for a copy of it, email us at hello@myskyreport.com. We may ask you to confirm the email address you ordered with, so we know we are talking to the right person. We will answer within one month, as UK law requires.

A refund within 14 days does not stop you asking us to delete your data. Payment and tax records are the exception. We must keep those for 6 years. See our refund policy.

Complaints

We would like the chance to help first, so please email us. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Ages

You must be 18 or older to buy. Anyone can use the free chart and tools: they are worked out in your browser, and we collect no personal details from them.

If a birth date shows someone is under 13, we load no ad or analytics tags for that visit and we collect no email address. We do not take orders for them. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you think a child has given us their data, email us and we will delete it.

Keeping your data safe

Your report sits at a private, unguessable link. Anyone with the link can read it, so keep it private. We use trusted providers for hosting, payments and email. No system is perfectly secure, but we take care with the data you give us.

Technical data

When you load any page, our hosting provider receives the technical details your browser sends, such as your IP address and browser type. That is how the internet works. Vercel uses this to deliver the site and keep it secure. We also use your IP address briefly, to limit repeated tries and to check that you are in the US when you pay. We do not store it with your order.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. For the rules of using the site, see our terms of service.
