Do I need my birth time to find my moon sign?
Usually not. The Moon stays in a sign for two to three days, so your birth date is enough most of the time. The time matters only when the Moon changed signs on your birthday.
Why does it show me two moon signs?
On roughly four days in ten, the Moon moves into a new sign. If that happened on your birth date and you didn’t give a time, we can’t tell which side of the change you were born on. Read both and see which fits, or find your birth time to know for sure.
How is a moon sign different from a sun sign?
Your sun sign comes from your birth date and changes about once a month. Your moon sign changes every two to three days. So people born in the same month often share a sun sign but have very different moon signs.
How do you work out my moon sign?
We calculate the Moon’s position for your birth date, time and place with open-source astronomy code. If you leave the time out, we use noon at your birthplace and tell you when the Moon changed signs that day.
